The Dolge family, Troy Sarah, Taylor, Trevor, Tobyn and #4, live in Kenny Lake, Alaska where the summers are nice and the winters can get to -50 degrees F.  Now that’s cold.  Troy dabbles in many things including pottery, photography, diving, fishing and hunting for the mighty moose.  God has given him a love for Africa, and after a few visits to the continent he looks forward to the return.  He could move there and live happily ever after, but a 5 year stint may be enough.  Sarah stays at home and enjoys motherhood with the four boys we have.  Taylor, “the lawyer” Trevor, “the pleaser”, Tobyn, “the king”, and Trigger “the sweet baby”.  She is awesome in the kitchen and loves encouraging other young ladies.  She loved her 5 months in Uganda in 2011 and looks forward to returning to the relationships with the ladies of Africa.  The Dolge family has spent the last 13 years in Alaska living life in the wilderness, collecting berries, hunting the big moose, and enjoying salmon by the hundreds.  We feel the clear direction God has laid before us is being in Uganda and building relationships and sharing God’s love with the kids and community of New Hope.  You can be apart of this great opportunity of “Bringing the Fatherhood of God to the Fatherless.”  Ps. 68-5-6

Why are we doing this?  I am starting to get this question from people I talk with.  I know I cannot generate the same passion God has given me about Africa in some one else, but it’s not just about the continent, it’s about the children, the orphan heart.  All I can do is share my heart and allow people a chance to respond to the needs of this opportunity.  We loved our time at New Hope and through the training and time spent with the children we knew we were to return.  Return to build relationships and share the Fathers love with the fatherless.  We want to be apart of God’s work in the heart of the fatherless in Uganda, rebuilding relationship and biblical manhood and womanhood.

New Hope has a need to use media to share whats going on in the lives of these children as well as the many ministry opportunities NH offers.  For example the institute of childcare and family has a need to transfer their curriculum to audio and video for use in other institutes around the globe.  This will allow them to teach a class in Kenya or India.  To equip the staff to bring healing and develop accessible materials for orphan care.  Another example is keeping New Hopes supporters up to date with current events or needs thought social media and publications. As westerners we are getting more used to the fast pace of living with media in our hands.  Being in Uganda and where the culture is not so fast paced we will be able to use the media outlets to communicate to the world what God is doing at New Hope.

You have an opportunity to be involved in this work by joining the Dolge support team.  Your support will allow us to be there on site where we can in turn help NH build their support through media as well as share what’s going on in a more real-time format.  Please prayerfully consider how you can be a part of this team over the next 5 year.  You will also give us the opportunity to personally invest in the lives of the orphaned children there. We want to be a part of their stories in understanding the great love of their Heavenly Father and see His healing in their lives.
